TAITRA representatives mark the official opening of Taiwan Expo 2025 in the Philippines, celebrating stronger ties and opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
MANILA, Philippines — The capital once again takes center stage as Taiwan Expo returns to the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from 17 to 19 September, bringing together more than 125 Taiwanese exhibitors spanning technology, sustainability, agriculture, healthcare, and lifestyle.
This year’s staging builds on Manila’s growing reputation as a regional trade hub, following a 2025 edition that generated $53.4 million in business opportunities and welcomed over 10,000 buyers to the city. Taiwanese enterprises will exhibit under a “National Team” banner, organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
“Fifty-three million dollars in business opportunities showed us how much appetite there is in this market,” said James C. F. Huang, Chairman of TAITRA. “This year we want to build on that through joint ventures, licensing, and local assembly, so Taiwanese and Philippine companies are building together rather than simply trading. Our measure of success is how many of these connections are still producing value for both sides five years from now.”
Manila’s hosting role comes as trade between Taiwan and the Philippines continues to grow — the two economies traded $6.71 billion in goods in 2024, with bilateral trade up 8.5 percent in the first seven months of 2025, lifting Taiwan from the Philippines’ eleventh- to tenth-largest trading partner.
Inside SMX, the Green & Innovation Showcase headlines the floor with battery energy storage systems and hydrogen microgrids for island and off-grid deployment, along with green building insulation, AI-powered waste sorting systems, and biodegradable plant-based drinking straws.

Manila-based buyers will also find the Agritech & Food Pavilion, featuring Autonomous Mobile Robots, smart livestock environmental control systems, premium Phalaenopsis orchids, and high-mountain teas; the Intelligent Technology Pavilion, covering AIoT, edge computing, collaborative robots, and zero-trust cybersecurity frameworks; the Beauty & Wellness Pavilion, combining biotech skincare with sterile surgical supplies; and the Premium Lifestyle Pavilion, showcasing rPET recycled fabric bags, EV safety blankets, and precision bathroom components.
Running September 17–19 at the SMX Convention Center, Taiwan Expo 2026 brings exhibitions, seminars, cultural showcases, and B2B activities to the city, organized by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and implemented by TAITRA.
