PeraSure brings a more accessible borrowing option to Filipino workers with non-traditional incomes

MANILA, Philippines – For millions of Filipinos, earning a living does not necessarily mean receiving a regular paycheck. Freelancers, gig workers, platform-based earners, and micro-entrepreneurs contribute to the country’s workforce but may struggle to access credit when lenders require conventional proof of employment.

PeraSure, a digital lending app operated by SEC-registered Sulit Lending Corporation, is seeking to address this challenge following its official launch in the Philippines. The platform is designed to make borrowing more accessible to eligible applicants with different income sources, while allowing them to understand loan costs before making a commitment.

Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority indicate that approximately 9.9 million Filipinos work in gig or informal roles. This represents around 22% of the country’s 44 million employed workers, highlighting the scale of a workforce that may not always have access to traditional employment documents.

“Many hardworking Filipinos earn a living outside a regular payroll, yet lending has long been built around payslips,” PeraSure noted. “We want borrowers to see exactly what they will pay, within the SEC’s limits, before they confirm a loan.”

To simplify the application process, eligible users can apply with a government-issued ID and basic employment or income information, avoiding much of the paperwork associated with conventional consumer lending. Applicants can also review the full rate breakdown, applicable fees, and total repayment amount before confirming a loan.

PeraSure’s entry into the market coincides with updated regulatory limits for lending companies. SEC Memorandum Circular No. 14, Series of 2025, which took effect on April 1, 2026, sets a combined interest-and-fee ceiling of 12% per month for qualifying small loans, reduced from 15% per month.

The platform charges a daily interest rate as low as 0.10%, below the updated ceiling. Eligible borrowers may access loans of up to ₱50,000, with repayment terms ranging from 30 to 180 days based on their individual credit evaluations.

PeraSure also offers a revolving credit arrangement, allowing eligible borrowers to access an approved credit line over time rather than reapplying and requalifying for each transaction. Credit limits may increase as borrowers build a repayment history.

With its focus on simpler applications, transparent loan costs, and continuing access to approved credit, PeraSure aims to serve the everyday cash-flow needs of salaried employees, gig workers, and micro-entrepreneurs alike.

The PeraSure app is available for download on Google Play.
