Philippines — Key players in the Philippine housing and real estate development sector will come together this September as the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) convenes its 34th National Developers Convention amid a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
The two-day event will be held on September 16–17, 2026, at Marquis Events Place, BGC, Taguig City, Metro Manila, bringing together developers, policymakers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to discuss market developments, policy changes, and opportunities for collaboration.
This year’s convention carries the theme “Elevate: Sustaining Progress through Collaboration and Strategic Housing Innovations,” reflecting the industry’s need to remain responsive as housing demand, buyer preferences, and regulations continue to evolve.
“The housing sector has never operated in a vacuum. Regulations shift, market conditions change, and developers have to keep up. That’s exactly what the convention is for. We come together, we share what we know, and we figure out the next steps as an industry,” said Engr. Francis Richmond Villegas, SHDA Chairman of the Board.
The Philippine housing market is seeing continued expansion outside Metro Manila, with infrastructure improvements creating opportunities in emerging growth areas. First-time buyers and young families remain important drivers of demand, particularly in the economic and affordable housing segments.
Residential demand is also increasing in suburban townships, even as homebuyers become more selective amid changing market conditions.
Developers are likewise operating within an active regulatory environment. Recent policy adjustments, including updated socialized housing price ceilings, highlight the importance of staying informed about changes that may affect housing development.
